“My purpose here is to portray the impressions of an American visitor in Paris as he strolls about the city, listens to the various street noises, and absorbs the French atmosphere.” said George Gershwin about the piece he wrote in 1926. Though this “rhapsodic ballet” has been recorded many times, this is the original 1929 recording and the ONLY recording with Gershwin himself playing an instrument. This is a two piece 12″ record set. We have removed some crackling and enhanced the overall sound image, but left the noise mostly intact to preserve the full audio spectrum.
This is a modified version of the song. It has been taken from this record, but enhanced and remastered.
