This is a test pressing of the 1940 recording of Tuxedo Junction. The song was co-written by Erskine Hawkins, Bill Johnson and Julian Dash. It was a huge success for Glenn Miller, it became a “Billboard Number 1” hit and sold more than 100,000 copies in the first week. We had the opportunity to work with the metal masters a few week ago and had to find out that, unfortunately, the masters are not usable anymore. So this record has some additional historical value as it is as close as it gets to the master. And – it’s the “good take” .. but listen for yourself.
Audio has be de-crackled but otherwise not been enhanced.
