The year is 1943 and almost all of Europe is goose-stepping to military march music. Jazz and Swing had been declared to be “Jewish degenerated music” and forbidden. One would risk jail time or worse by just spinning an illegal record or by listening to “enemy” radio stations. But there – in tiny Switzerland – was a band playing the hottest and best Jazz around. The band was called “Lanigiro” (“Original” in reverse) and those kids knew how to swing.
